Panchavati

It is believed that Lord Shri Ram and Sita along with Laxman stayed at Panchavati for 14 years. Now days Panchavati is known as Nashik; which is one of the big city in Maharashtra. The legendary story regarding Nashik, it is place where Laxman cut Shurpanakha’s nose and ear. Nose means Naak. So this place is called NashikIt is situated at the bank of Godavari river. Panchavati is close from KalaramTemple.  There five types of trees, i.e. Vad, Pimple, Bel, Ashok, Aavala (वड, पिंपळ, बेल, अशोक, आवळा)so called Panchavati. Which are big and vary usefull trees to human beings. There is a cave where Sitamata stayed safely, due to Sitamata’s living it is called as Sita Gumpha.

Also another interesting fact about the Panchavati Ram mandir, took over 2000 workers and 14 years to build this majestic temple It’s a holy mythological place for the worshippers of Lord Ram and Sita in a peaceful serene town near Nashik in Maharashtra. In mandir Shriram is standing with Sitamata at one hand side and brother Laxman at other hand side and Hanuman sited on his leg at lotus feet of Shriram. It is huge temple builded in stone. Idols of diety are vary preety, here Shriram give assurance to his devotee, that don’t worry ,he will take care of you. The temple attracts around 1000 worshippers daily and the morning aartis are also highly attended.  It’s a peaceful place with natural ambience free from the hustles and bustles of the metro cities and it’s a must visit for worshippers of Lord Ram & Sita.  Also after every 12 years Kumbh Mela is conducted at this place which is nothing less than a festival and a different experience altogether. KumbhMela is a period when Ganga river comes into Godavari river it is for limited time. It is the period when Sun planet enters in to (Leo)Simha rass, so called Simhastha Kumbhamela.

How to reach here :

By road ,distance from Mumbai to Nashik is 167 km. From Pune to Nashik distance is 216 km. By road it is well connected with Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Delhi. Daily service of buses is there. Or hired /own car is always good option.

By railway, Nashik is railway station also from Mumbai every day Panchavati Exp. is there. Rail journey is safe and without polluted. From Railway station we can get hired vehicles to Rammandir.
