Chikhaldara Wildlife Sanctuary
Boasting of a large breed of birds and wildlife and named after a spot called “Keechaka” where Bhima (one of the five pandavas) killed the mighty Keechaka-Chikaldhara wildlife sanctuary is located in the Amravati district of Maharastra and is relatively more popular than Gugumal national Park which is also in the Amravati district. It’s a picturesque location and you will come across beautiful lakes and waterfalls which make it all the more attractive for the visitors.
Panthers, Sloth Bears, Sambar, Wild Dogs and Wild Boars are some of the usual animals which you will spot all the time. Melghat Tiger Reserve, Gavilgad Fort, Karnala Fort, Pandit Nehru Botanical Gardens, Tribal Museum and Semadoh Lake are some of the nearby places which you must try if you are visiting Chikaldhara Wildlife Sanctuary.
