Akkalkot Swami Samarth Math
Akkalkot is a temple dedicated to Shree Swami Samarth Maharaja, a form of Dattatreya.There is a Banyan Tree near this temple which is believed to be the site where the saint used to meditate. The death anniversary of the saint is also celebrated here. For the devotees of Swami Samarth, this might be a certain visit while in the Solpaur area it is about 40 km away from Solapur and the road is reasonably good. It is in Solapur Distr. There is free Prasad (meal) served to hundreds of visitors every day in a very disciplined and organized way. The ambience is also very serene and it succeeds in giving you a lot of peace.
Once you enter, you can experience Lord Dattatreya’s presence in this holy temple. Swami’s padukas, bed,etc. are also on display for devotees to touch and venerate. This is the place where swami used to sit and preach & it is believed that every wishes are fulfilled here and no one goes empty handed from this temple. Temple is open from 5.00 am. till 10.00 pm. Starts with Kakad Aarati and ends with Sheajarati. In between on 12.00 pm and 7.00 pm. there is Aarati. Darshan Time is 6.00 am to 12.00 pm and 4.00 pm to 9.00 pm.
After 12.00 pm there is prasad for each and every person without any limitation. Now days there is good arrangement of living in Bhaktaniwas which is on 200 meters.
How to reach here:
Solapur is well connected to Akkalkote with ST buses. Which starts hourly. Also hired taxis are available to go there. From Mumbai by train we can reach Solapur and then by road either by bus or taxi is good option to travellers. Otherwise some travellers take bus from Mumbai to Akkalkote.
