Ashta vinayaka
Ashtavinayaka is the 5th amongst the 8 ashtavinayakas and is a religious temple of Lord Ganesha which gets more than 1000 visitors a day. Photography is not allowed since its amongst the 8 orignal ashtavinayakas which is considered to be very sacred and a holy place.
The temple is located on Pune-solapur highway around 25 km from Swargate Bus stand. The route has toll roads where one needs to pay a nominal toll. The road is of good quality, however the final patch of around 4-5 km leading to Theur is a bit uncomfortable. The temple carries historic significance since the Peshwas used to visit the temple quite frequently. The ganesh idol is extremely beautiful, red in colour and is unique for sure!. The village has a parking lot where you can park your car upon payment of a nominal fee. You can also buy fresh farm vegetables and fruits especially guavas which are awesome in taste from local vendors in the vicinity of the temple. Overall, it’s a nice place to visit if you are in pune with your family!
