Balaji Mandir, Nerul
It is said that if you can’t visit the original Tirupati Balaji at Chennai, uou can just come here and feel the peace and absorb the positive vibes and the cool environment. Situated on a small hill close to the western side of the Nerul railway station & offers an excellent view. The Idol of Lord is Majestic & you can feel the divine presence once you are inside the temple. The Gopuram is also beautifully colored.
The Surrounding area of the temple is very clean & one can easily spend a beautiful evening at this location on the hill top. For all of us who cannot trek up the sacred Tirumala hills, come visit the Lord in the beautiful Balaji Temple Nerul! Balaji Temple is an almost-exact replica of the Tirupati Balaji Temple. It is also one of the first shrines of the new city & still remains a favourite after 30 years. The city has blossomed and bloomed beneath the Lords Lotus feet.
Main deity here is Shri Balaji (form of lord Vishnu) and there are other small shrines of God such as the Hanuman Temple, Vishwaksena Temple, Ramanuja Temple and Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, the Vidya Ganapati Temple, and the Shri Padmavati Devi Temple. Several other deities such as Sridevi, Bhoodevi, and Shrinivasa are also worshipped in this temple ; Chakrathazwar/Sri Nrisimhar & other Azhwar sannidhis are inside the temple which makes it all the more holy to seek the blessings atleast once.
The temple remains open during 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM during Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; and on Mondays to Thursdays, the temple remains open from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the morning and then from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Entry is free for everybody. But photography is strictly prohibited.
How to reach here:
One can take train going to Panvel or Navi Mumbai from CST or from Wadala and get down at Nerul railway station from the station autorickshaws are available for this temple. Other route is by Best buses from Agarkar Chowk, Andheri goes to Nerul Naka ; it is the closest bus stop to the Balaji Temple.
