Shiroda Beach

Shiroda Beach is famous for the Salt Satyagraha started by Mahatma Gandhi. The protest was undertaken at the Shiroda Beach to support the movement. The beach is located in the Shiroda Village in the south of the Konkan region of Maharashtra.

One of the main attractions at Shiroda beach is the nearby Shiroda Ganpati Temple, which is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord Ganesh. The temple is a popular spot for both tourists and locals.

Other Major attractions located near the beach are the Dev Vetoba, Hanuman Temple, Sateri Temple, Navadurga Temple and Mauti Temple. The Salt Pans, Velagar Beach, Shiroda Market and Yashvantgad Fort are some of the other attractions.

How to Reach ?

Bus : Sindhudurg is located 130 km from Goa, 150 km from Ratnagiri and 535 km from Mumbai. Malvan is connected by direct ST bus services from Mumbai, Goa, Pune and Kolhapur.

Train : Sawantwadi Railway Station is the closest station to Malvan Jetty, lying 20 km away. It is well connected to cities like Mumbai, Pune, Goa, New Delhi and Ahmedabad. Auto-rickshaws and buses are available on route to Malvan Jetty. No taxis are available.

Air : Dabolim airport in Goa is the nearest airport located at a distance of 135 km from the Malvan Jetty. Taxis and buses are available. One must board a ferry at Malvan Jetty to reach the Sindhudurg.
